Take Action

Tell Congress: Protect Our National Monuments

The Antiquities Act is one of America’s most effective conservation laws. Through it, the U.S. has established some of our most popular national parks and iconic landscapes. We’re talking about the Grand Canyon, Acadia National Park, Muir Woods, and more special places like them.

But last month, protections for Northeast Canyons and Seamounts Marine National Monument were weakened, and Congress is still considering a bill to repeal repeal the Antiquities Act (S.220/H.R.521).

Urge Congress to safeguard the Antiquities Act and our national monuments today.

RE: Oppose S.220/H.R.521

To

I am deeply concerned by the proposed bill S.220/H.R.521, which seeks to repeal the Antiquities Act. This law has played a crucial role in protecting some of our country's most cherished landscapes, including the Grand Canyon, Olympic, Acadia, Bryce Canyon, and Death Valley National Parks, places that millions of Americans, including me, treasure.

These protections also support a thriving outdoor recreation economy and ensure public access for all of us, including hikers and bikers, campers and anglers, birders and explorers, today and for generations to come.

Americans overwhelmingly support conservation and efforts to preserve access to the outdoors. I urge you to listen to the voices of those who rely on these lands for recreation, cultural heritage, and economic benefits. Please oppose this harmful bill and defend the Antiquities Act.

Sincerely,
