Take Action

Tell Congress: Fully Fund the Outdoor Recreation Legacy Partnership (ORLP)

For generations, Tribal nations and Indigenous communities have cared for their homelands and waters, protecting wildlife, restoring ecosystems, and ensuring that future generations can connect with the outdoors. But for far too long, federal park investments have overlooked Tribal and Indigenous peoples.

That’s why the Outdoor Recreation Legacy Partnership (ORLP) matters. It invests in parks, cultural gathering spaces, and recreational areas in communities that have long been underserved.

Thank Congress for permanently establishing ORLP—and urge them to fully fund the program so that Tribal nations and Indigenous communities receive access to these long-awaited resources.

By taking action, you will receive important updates about our work and how you can help Trust for Public Land protect public land and parks for people.

RE: Fully fund the Outdoor Recreation Legacy Partnership

To

Thank you for your leadership in permanently establishing the Outdoor Recreation Legacy Partnership (ORLP) program and advancing the Outdoors for All Act. It's inspiring to see Congress take meaningful steps that expand access to the outdoors, especially for federally recognized Tribes, Alaska Natives, Native Hawaiians, and low-income communities.

The ORLP program represents an incredible opportunity to create parks and outdoor spaces that honor culture, strengthen community health, and ensure everyone can benefit from the lands that sustain us. I'm grateful for the progress already made and excited to see this promise fully realized.

To keep this momentum going, I respectfully request that you continue to champion ORLP by ensuring full program funding. With your support, Tribal nations, Indigenous peoples and low-income communities across our state will have the resources they need to build and revitalize green spaces where people can gather, play, and thrive.

Thank you again for your commitment to expanding access to nature for all. I appreciate your continued leadership in this effort.

Sincerely,
