Take the Pledge
GET OUTDOORS ON NATIONAL PUBLIC LANDS DAY
This National Public Lands Day, we’re giving back to the public lands that give us so much. Join us in pledging to spend time outdoors on September 27—whether it’s your neighborhood park, a favorite trail, or a hidden wild space. Snap a photo, tag Trust for Public Land, and show the world why public lands matter to you. The more we celebrate these spaces, the more we protect them—together.
Public lands—and our time spent exploring them—are essential to our health and happiness. These shared places offer us moments of adventure, reflection, and connection. National Public Lands Day (September 27) is an opportunity to reaffirm our love of and commitment to these places that sustain and inspire us.
Americans love their public lands and want them protected. Nearly three-quarters of Americans—across political lines—oppose the sale or closure of public lands. These aren't just numbers; they reflect how deeply communities value access to nature, outdoor recreation, and the economic and health benefits that public lands provide.
But right now, these treasured places face mounting threats—federal budget cuts, the persistent threats of privatization and development, and growing impacts of climate change are putting our public lands under immense pressure.
Pledge to get outdoors on National Public Lands. Your presence sends a powerful message: these places matter and must be protected.
