Take Action

Urge Congress: Preserve the Antiquities Act and Defend Our National Monuments

For over a century, the Antiquities Act has protected our most cherished places: Grand Canyon, Bears Ears, Stonewall, and over 150 more.

A dangerous bill—S.220/H.R.521—would repeal the Antiquities Act entirely. And a recently released Department of Justice memo opened the door for presidents to unilaterally revoke national monument designations—putting millions of acres of protected public lands in jeopardy with a single stroke of the pen.

We can't let this happen. Call on Congress to defend the places that belong to all of us.

RE: Oppose S.220/H.R.521

To

I am deeply concerned about new threats to our national monuments and the future of the Antiquities Act.

This law has protected some of our country's most cherished places, like the Grand Canyon, Bears Ears, and Stonewall, for more than a century. These aren't just beautiful landscapes. They hold deep cultural and ecological value. They connect us to our history, support local economies, and provide space for reflection, recreation, and healing.

Now, proposals like S.220/H.R.521 and a recent Department of Justice memo could weaken or even reverse those protections. It's troubling to think that future presidents might lose the ability to protect these special places, or that existing protections could be stripped away.

The Antiquities Act has long had bipartisan support because it reflects the values of people across the country. Please help protect the lands we all share for today and future generations.

Sincerely,
