RE: Invest in Trails and Greenways

As your constituent, I am writing to urge you to support investment in trails and safe, active transportation in the upcoming Surface Transportation Reauthorization bill.

I care deeply about my community and the outdoors. Projects like community trails, sidewalks, bike lanes, and rail-to-trail conversions aren't just nice to have; they're essential. They help people of all ages get to work, school, and everyday destinations safely and affordably. They strengthen local economies, reduce traffic, improve our health, and make our neighborhoods more connected and livable.

Right now, Congress has a real opportunity to support these kinds of community-based solutions. I respectfully ask that you

+ fully fund the Active Transportation Infrastructure Investment Program (ATIIP),
+ ensure active transportation projects are clearly eligible for federal transportation funds,
+ improve access for rail-to-trail projects to compete for funding, and
+ support the Sarah Debbink Langenkamp Active Transportation Safety Act to better protect people walking and biking.

These are smart investments that benefit everyone. I hope you'll stand with communities like ours and ensure trails and active transportation are a priority.
