Take Action

Thank President Biden for Designating the Great Bend of the Gila as a National Monument

The Great Bend of the Gila, with its flowing Gila River, rugged mountain peaks, and ancient geoglyphs, is an irreplaceable archeological treasure. And now, it's our newest national monument!

However, there is still more to do. Other vital landscapes and historic sites remain at risk, and President Biden must act quickly to ensure their protection before his term concludes. Let’s continue advocating for the protection of these iconic landscapes together.

By taking action, you will receive important updates about our work and how you can help Trust for Public Land protect public land and parks for people.

RE: Thank You

To

Thank you for your efforts to designate the Great Bend of the Gila as a national monument. This historic action secures the protection of over 80,000 acres that hold deep significance to several Arizona-based tribes. The ancient rock art and geoglyphs gracing the river, cliffs, and valley floor are irreplaceable cultural treasures. By granting this landscape national monument status, you've ensured it will remain safe from harm and preserved for future generations.

Our national monuments and public lands benefit all Americans, including future generations. I encourage you to continue protecting our country's historic and natural treasures, places such as Chuckwalla near Joshua Tree National Park and Black Wall Street in Tulsa, Oklahoma, which are equally significant and deserving of national monument designation. Please act swiftly to preserve these critical landscapes as national monuments.

Sincerely,
