Take Action

Tell your elected leaders to support Texas’s parks, trails, and outdoor places!

From iconic landscapes like Palo Duro Canyon and the Texas Hill Country, to urban oases like Klyde Warren Park and Barton Springs, Texans love to get outside! Our state is stronger, healthier, and more connected when everyone can get outside and engage with nature. Yet far too many communities across the Lone State lack outdoor access to trails, greenspaces, and parks.

Trust for Public Land is on a mission to change that, but we can’t do it alone. Help us ensure every Texan can connect to the outdoors by telling our elected leaders to support thriving Texas communities, a greener environment, and equitable economic growth by funding local parks, trails, and greenspaces.

By taking action, you will receive important updates about our work and how you can help Trust for Public Land protect public land and parks for people.

RE: Fund Texas's outdoor places

To

I'm writing to urge you to support our state's parks, trails, and outdoor places.

Parks and greenspaces play an essential role in our communities by bringing people together. Time spent outside is one of the best ways to improve our physical and mental health, providing opportunities for exercise, fresh air, and respite from anxiety. Additionally, parks and trails are drivers of the Texas economy: outdoor recreation generates more than $70 billion in economic activity and supports 411,000 jobs statewide.

For these reasons, I strongly urge you to support robust funding for our state's parks, trails, and outdoor places. If we maximize the opportunities for all Texans to experience the benefits of the outdoors, then every community will be stronger, healthier, and more vibrant for generations to come.

Sincerely,
