Take Action

Pass a Farm Bill that invests deeply in conservation

Since the Farm Bill is only under consideration every five years, it is truly one of the most significant opportunities this year to conserve lands and waters on farms.

Tell your members of Congress: to address the growing challenges of sustaining our country’s critical natural resources, we must pass a Farm Bill that addresses the challenge of climate change and provides investments to conserve wetlands, grasslands, forests, soil, clean water, and wildlife habitat.

By taking action, you will receive important updates about our work and how you can help Trust for Public Land protect public land and parks for people.

RE: Pass a Farm Bill that invests deeply in conservation

To [Decision Maker],

With the growing challenge of sustaining our country's critical natural resources, we must invest deeply in conserving wetlands, grasslands, forests, soil, clean water, and wildlife habitat. That is why I urge you to advocate for a Farm Bill that not only strengthens the resilience of our food systems and land stewardship, but also limits the impacts of extreme weather through data-driven climate and conservation solutions.

The upcoming Farm Bill needs to:

- prioritize programs that reduce greenhouse gas emissions;
- maintain wetlands and reduce soil erosion to avoid the most harmful results of agriculture production;
- increase investments to ensure local conservation partners, historically disadvantaged producers, and new farmers and ranchers have the resources to confront climate and extinction crises; and
- amplify conservation and research funding levels.

For nearly 100 years, the Farm Bill has helped build and maintain a safe and abundant food supply. Please do all you can to ensure that legacy continues and grows for generations to come.

Sincerely,
