Take Action

Tell President Biden to protect conservation funding!

The lands, parks, and trails we love could wind up on the chopping block this weekend. As lawmakers seek to address the impending debt limit, President Biden has so far resisted immense pressure to defund the critical programs that protect the lands we love and ensure equitable access to nature. But with a deadline looming and pressure to reach a deal increasing, we must be clear: our treasured places are not up for negotiation.

The Limit, Save, Grow Act (H.R. 2811), which passed the U.S. House of Representatives in April, would slash funding for conservation programs across the board by approximately 30%.

Please send a quick message to tell the President to protect funding for parks, trails, access to nature, and more.

By taking action, you will receive important updates about our work and how you can help Trust for Public Land protect public land and parks for people.

RE: Oppose H.R. 2811 budget cuts and caps

To President Biden,

As an avid supporter of the outdoors, I urge you to oppose federal budget cuts and caps such as those in the Limit, Save, Grow Act (H.R. 2811), which would defund the lands, parks, and trails we love.

H.R. 2811 would be disastrous for the places we cherish. The bill would slash funding for conservation programs by approximately 30%, and budget caps would then lock in that insufficient funding until 2033, which would impact our public lands, hiking and biking trails, and our beloved parks alike. This is a wholly unacceptable outcome that would be devastating for public health and safety as well as for America's irreplaceable public lands, natural resources, and wildlife.

We need more investment - not less - to tackle the climate crisis, ensure equitable access to nature, and safeguard our treasured places. Please continue to invest in programs that allow us all to enjoy the great outdoors and oppose the extreme spending cuts and budget caps in H.R. 2811.

Thank you for protecting America's public lands and equitable access to nature!

Sincerely,
