Protect the Bonneville Shoreline Trail From Development
Today, Utah’s largest and fastest growing urban area is located on the prehistoric lakebed and benches of Lake Bonneville. Since 1991, outdoor enthusiasts have dreamed about completing the Bonneville Shoreline Trail (BST).
Since then, we've partnered with local government, landowners, and conservation groups to complete more than 100 miles of the proposed trail, while protecting nearly 2,000 acres of the BST’s trail corridor from development.
We're working with local partners and landowners to improve public access, connect disconnected trail segments, and safeguard critical surrounding open space to extend the trail for people to enjoy now and for generations to come.
Urge Utah’s congressional delegation to support the Bonneville Shoreline Trail Advancement Act today!
The act will protect key segments of the BST for all ages and abilities—giving nature lovers, mountain bikers, runners, hikers, equestrians, and cross-country skiers new opportunities to get outside and enjoy the outdoors, all while protecting the land in perpetuity.
When completed, the trail will extend nearly 300 miles, from the Idaho border to Nephi, Utah. The partially completed route follows the prehistoric shoreline of Lake Bonneville along the benches and foothills of the Wasatch Range, within the Wasatch-Cache National Forest.
