Urge Congress to protect these precious landscapes
Today is Trust for Public Land’s “Virtual Day on the Hill,” when we are asking you to help us virtually send 10,000 constituents to the Capitol in 24 hours to protect precious lands as national monuments.
Here are the landscapes at risk:
- Avi Kwa Ame, Nevada: Protect 380,000 acres of land sacred to multiple tribes and crucial to threatened wildlife, such as the elusive desert tortoise, from large-scale development.
- Castner Range, Texas: Safeguard incredible views, future outdoor recreation opportunities, prehistoric artifacts, and rare and endangered wildlife for generations to come.
- Berryessa Snow Mountain, California: Expand access to 3,925 acres of public land to preserve archeological sites and the health of forest land.
We need to demonstrate support for these landscapes in Congress. Our national monuments are drivers of local economies and provide shared recreation opportunities for locals and visitors around the world.
Please “visit” Capitol Hill with us today to leave no doubt with President Biden and your congressional leaders that we need to protect these culturally significant and biologically diverse landscapes now.
