Take Action

Reverse the damage to parks and public lands

Congress just passed a FY22 omnibus appropriations bill that, if signed into law, will provide desperately needed funding for parks and public lands.

Take action now and urge President Biden to sign the FY22 omnibus appropriations bill!

Here's what's at stake:

  • Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF): America’s best federal program to conserve open spaces across the country
  • Readiness and Environmental Protection Initiative (REPI): Safeguards land around military bases where development could threaten critical habitat or environmental resources
  • Community Forest Program (CFP): Protects forest lands that contribute to healthy, flourishing communities
  • Outdoor Recreation Legacy Partnership Program (ORLP): Helps communities improve access to outdoor recreation

We cannot delay, even for a moment! We have our work cut out for us to reverse the damage resulting from years of underfunding and attacks on our protected public lands.

Now is the time to reclaim, repair, and restore our beautiful outdoor spaces for all of us and all who come after us. Please take a stand for public land now by signing the petition to President Biden today.

RE: Sign the FY22 appropriations bill

To President Biden,

I'm writing to urge you to sign the FY22 omnibus appropriations bill, which would provide much-needed funding for:

- Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF): America's best federal program to conserve open spaces across the country

- Readiness and Environmental Protection Initiative (REPI): Safeguards land around military bases where development could threaten critical habitat or environmental resources

- Community Forest Program (CFP): Protects forest lands that contribute to healthy, flourishing communities

- Outdoor Recreation Legacy Partnership Program (ORLP): Helps communities improve access to outdoor recreation

These investments in our parks and public lands would stimulate job creation and economic activity, expand park access for the one-in-three Americans who do not have a close-to-home park, and provide health and social benefits to underserved communities.

For these reasons, I strongly urge you to prioritize these initiatives by signing the FY22 appropriations bill. If we maximize the opportunities for all Americans to experience the benefits of nature, then every community - regardless of zip code - will be stronger, healthier, and more connected for generations to come.

Sincerely,
